Born in the southern lands of Elsweyr, in the town known as Akariue, Revikus-Adi is the descendant of a long line of Tsaesci warriors spanning to the Sword-Surrender at Pale Pass in the year 2703 of the First Era. His father, Zhasu-Asi, served as First-Sword of Akariue and his mother, Zeafi-Gyj was a seamstress. His mother died of disease when Revikus was six years old.
From a young age Revikus was trained in the arts of martial combat; swordsmanship, hand to hand fighting, guerilla warfare, among others. His father, Zhasu-Asi, served as a personal bodyguard and prominent member of the community. As such Revikus was trained to one day take his fathers place. But the young man had a wanderlust, however his ties of blood bound him to Akariue. Until the battle with the Sashaa-Krin.
The Khajiit bandits were first seen by Revikus and his friend, the future magnate Kaisha-Chah, in the eastern hills. In the days prior it was up to the warriors of the village, Revikus included, to train the militia. When the bandits arrived they were met, and after negotiations broke down attacked. Revikus led a group of ten men into battle, striking with speed and precision. However when his father perished at the hands of a Pahmar leader, Revikus engaged in single combat to avenge him. In the end, Revikus successfully slew the Khajiit using a Kiai technique called Hafuilni. (Blade-Wind-Cut).
Following the battle, Revikus-Adi decided to leave Akariue behind and head south to Senchal. It was there that Revikus claimed his fame; a pre-eminent fighter in the Black Kirego Area, a trusted guardian to the lords of the underworld, a successful smuggler and part-time privateer. However as the years went by, Revikus became tired of the criminal life, and as the Thirteenth Legion 'Shields of Senchal' started to cement their power, he went to sea with the crew of the 'Wicked Claw'.
From Senchal, Revikus found himself in Stros M'Kai, a pirate haven in the Abecean Sea and near the Cape of the Blue Divide. He would work with the pirate crew, harrassing shipping throughout the Abecean: Breton merchants near the Systres, Dominion shipping to Valenwood, and Redguard vessels of the Covenant. In time he rose to the rank of quartermaster, until the day the 'Wicked Claw' and its crew were caught in a Dominion ambush. Taking control of the ship, Revikus left the crews captain and boarders behind to save what remained.
For a short while, Revikus captained the 'Wicked Claw' albeit with reservations. After receiving a letter from Kaisha-Chah in the year 2E 589, he set forth towards Cyrodiil, arriving in the Gold Coast in 2E 590. He once more continued his sellsword activities, temporarily aligning himself with the various lesser lords of the land but never pledging his fealty to them. In 2E 591, he began to hear rumors that one of the Highland warlords had ambitions to reunite the empire, curious Revikus found his way to Spartharia, domain of Volund Decentius.
Shebei
The Shebei is a set of ancestral blades and armor that has belonged in Revikus' family for generations. Some date back to when his ancestors first set foot on Tamriel during The Seeking. Some are more recent, from ancestors serving with the Dragonguard, Legion of the Potentate, and Syffim. For Revikus, these pieces of equipment are sacred. Those who besmirch or damage them will earn Revikus' ire, be they lowly beggar or an Emperor.

Revikus' weaponry is a set of blades passed down through the generations. These blades are made in the Tsaesci style, a single edged curved blade of folded steel. There are four blades in particular: the Odachi, Katana, and Tanto. The Odachi, or Great Sword, is the oldest of the blades and was carried into battle by the oldest of Revikus' line. It is relatively unadorned, a simple single edged blade which can cut men and beast alike. His most commonly worn weapons however are his katana and tanto. The katana is believed to have been forged for his ancestor Xhennuk-Ras, one of the founded members of the fighters guild. Reflecting the time in which they were forged, they are far more ornamental in nature featuring snake motifs. He also carries a wakizashi in a similar style, but for formal situations rather than battle. The tanto is the newest blade and one forged in Akariue. It is a simple, single edged dagger made of steel. It was made after the Wakizashi was lost for a time, only found after the dagger was forged.Beyond his melee weaponry, Revikus keeps a small set of bo shuriken typically kept in a pouch under his right pauldron. These throwing spikes are used to distract and misdirect, rather than outright kill.

A set of gold-laquered iron scaled armor, this set has been passed down Revikus' family for generations. The stories told are that this set of armor was forged soon after the death of Reman III and the rise of the Potentates. The armor itself is made to be more ornamental than practical, however it is more than capable of being used in battle. In spots not covered by the lamellar plates, chain and leather are sewn between layers of cloth. This allows the armor to better flow, suiting Revikus' preferred fighting style. The armor over the years has been lacquered, stripped and relacquered numerous colors. It is said when the armor was worn by Xhennuk-Ras it was lacquered blood red. Upon arriving to Akariue, it was communally agreed to have a unified color. Using the common myths of the Tsaesci perpetuated by the books Mysterious Akavir and the 2920 novels as a template, they melted down and shaved gold objects. Their armor was lacquered to various shades of gold, to reflect their golden scales.
Panoply
Upon rising to the station of Palatina Seniores, Revikus was issued a new set of armor and weaponry for his duties in service to Volund Decentius. As one of the Seniores, his equipment is of the highest quality, constructed with the same methods as soldiers of the Second Empire.

While Revikus still uses utilizes his ancestral Katana and the tanto, the changing ways of war have led him to adopt newer weapons as well. His primary weapon is a spear, forged for the Palatina this ebony weapon is useful for both on foot and for their role as heavy cavalry. The spear itself is constructed with two lugs to parry oncoming attacks and to prevent the spear from penetrating too deep.In addition Revikus carries a satchel with give plumbata, lead-weighted throwing darts common among the soldiers of the Dominate. Unlike the shuriken, the plumbata is designed to kill rather than distract.Revikus still carries his katana on the belt of his armor, alongside the tanto. These two form effective sidearms. Under his right pauldron he keeps a set of bo shuriken for use in combat.

The uniformed armor of the Palatina Seniores is made of layers of ebony from the Drakonia mines. Embedded in the cuirass is a Red Diamond, symbolic to the Empire, rather than the Black Diamond of Decentius. This is a sign of hope, that the Empire may rise again. The legs are protected by pteruges, strips of hardened leather that prodvide adequeate protection while allowing Revikus to maintain his mobility. His lower legs are protected with ebony greaves and sabatons over his boots.
Name TBD
A set of ceremonial equipment, commissioned by Kaisha-Chah after the colony of Takkadei was established. It was given to Revikus-Adi in recognition of his role founding the colony.

Most of the weapons carried in this role are holdovers from Revikus' general equipment. However the Wakizashi was given to him by Nahd Virishaxi. Forged from ebony, the wakizashi is held in black fittings with guilded scales, to Revikus it represents a new beginning, one not directly forged by his ancestors, but of his people's will to begin anew.

When the people of Akariue left behind their old life, so too did they shed their scales of gold. In this land ruled by the Lord of Iron, they hardened themselves for the life to come. As the one who showed them the path, a set of armor was commissioned by Kaisha-Chah for Revikus. The armor was made to resemble that of a raging storm; the black sky pierced by bolts of purple lightning and dark clouds. Though primarily of Tsaesci armor construction, elements of Colovian iconography exist. Its buckle is punctuated by a black diamond encased in iron.

Hidden Work
During time in Senchal, Revikus became involved in many illicit activities. A blade for hire, smuggler, pirate, nothing was beneath him so long as the pay was worth it.
Swordsman
Revikus is also an avid swordsman, training daily in their use. It is for this he also offers his sword in exchange for gold, asking little questions. He has since offered his sword to the Imperial Volund Decentius.
Whispers
Common
"Not hard to tell he's got Akaviri blood in em. They all have some similar features, easiest way to tell is the eyes and hair. Eyes a burnt umber, and hair dark as night." - Ataf Al-Skaven, merchant in Abah's Landing"Mercenaries these days can be found under every rock, the problem with em though is their loyalty. But with him, once he's been hired he'll stay until his contracts done." - Cicero Vendicci, mercenary in Sutch"You'd think with armor as gaudy as his and how flamboyant he is in the arena, he'd be like that out of the arena. Being honest, didn't really see him much; only time I saw em was with that Ohmes pickpocket, or guarding one of the under-barons." - Moric Manette, fighter in the Black Kiergo Arena
Uncommon
"He earned himself a reputation down in Senchal. Once heard he killed a Senche-raht with just his bare hands. Dunno about that, but his skill with a blade is something else." - Bugrash gro-Bogharz, dockworker in Stros M'Kai"That one, it is a shame he no longer works here. This one once hired him to bring some rumored spirit-drink from Morrowind. Heard he was captured by some Indoril, but next thing this one knows he was standing before asking for the rest of his payment." - S'thasa, Under-Baroness of Khrassa-Di-Jihapiit in Senchal"Revikus? Oh I know him well, he was a favored client of mine. Such power within him, but I knew he also favored seeing strength. Nights with him often turned into a wrestling match. Of course, I always wondered if he lost on purpose. Not that I mind." - Eraldil Wind-Dancer, prostitute in Senchal.
Rare
"His skill with a blade is indeed somethin' to see, but one fight I watched; his blade didn't even touch his foe. But the next moment, they're spewin' blood! An' he was clad in mail!" - Helgird the Sturdy, dockworker in Stros M'Kai"The Golden Serpent? I know em, once hired em to pick up some cargo near Lilmoth and take it up to Mistress Ervona in Tel Oren. And he did it, no questions asked." - Crescius Maro, known slave-merchant in Senchal."The Snake, aye I remember em. Served as a Quartermaster aboard the Speedy Panther, plying the Abecean. Then the 'burst happened, Captain's soul ripped away, and he found himself the new captain. Never led his crew wrong." - Alesan Al-Skaven, pirate in Stros M'Kai
Exceptionally Rare
"Who are the Tsaesci? Why did they come to Tamriel? The people of Akariue know, but we guard it well. Tamriel is the nexus of Mundus; all men eventually travel here. And it is this nexus that our two lands are connected imperceptibly.Your ideals, your language, even your very forms. We have been described as vampires, but it is not blood we seek, we consume ideals. And in particular, one ideal above all: Ruby-Blessed, Serpent-Saint, Dragonborn. One who emboldens the Spirit of Freedom and Liberation of Man.For you see, we not only fight war here; our actions echo and reflect. And in our homeland, the Tiger-Dragon Emperor rules over time; rejects the past; embraces the future. That future does not include Tamriel. You think Revikus-Adi arrived in this land on a whim? He was sent here, to the Colovian West, birthland of Reman, to ready the path. That we might one day raise to the Ruby Throne one of righteous blood. A strong Cyrodiil, is a strong Tsaesci." - Kaisha-Chah, Magnate of Akariue

Relations
Kaisha-Chah |
Childhood friend |
"Ah Kaisha, with my father being her grandfathers protector we were always going to become close. With my role, we both found our purpose."
Shiazami |
Companion, former lover |
"When I arrived in Senchal, I came to know the little minx. Together we came to cooperate; she'd let me know of jobs where a blade was useful, I told her of braggarts with more gold then sense. We grew close, but fate decided to bring us apart."
Volund Decentius |
Sword-Brother, Sworn-Lord |
"I have come to regard Volund as a brother, if not a bit hard-headed, somewhat high and mighty sort; but that's what happens when your ambitions are to reunify not just Cyrodill but the whole of Tamriel. He isn't Dragonborn, but I will still call him Emperor-Regent."
Mariana Nautius |
Respected |
"I haven't really spoken with Mariana personally, rare few opportunities. However in the times I have spoken with her, she has been kind hearted, gentle. Only she can temper Volund's fire, and that is always appreciated."
Valethyne Feldren |
Lover |
"I was taken aback when I learned she was Volund's 'sister'. Not by blood but through actions. I have grown fond of her, and not just in the bedroom. She has a fascinating story woven into the world, and is interested in my own. I can only hope the bond continues to strengthen."
Nahd Virisaxhi |
Friend, See's as a 'little brother' |
"The young man has a fire to him, one that easily gets him into trouble. Still, he's a damn fine swordsman; and it is rare that I speak to one in touch with the blood; but he does not know the purpose. He'll learn."
Finnidor Giordant |
Friend |
"The medicus, cuisine aficionado, Draoife scout (whatever that is). A good one to have around, you easily know things are going to Oblivion when you hear 'Madness upon Magnus!' But, though no fighter he has a good head on his shoulders, and has shown inner strength to defend himself."
Marius Vatallion |
Battle-Brother |
"On the battlefield, I am happy to call Vatallion a brother. We've had some interesting experiences, both good and ill. I'll never forget his helmet. Off the field, though I have not voiced but his words can be inciting in a way. Still, I have no ill towards him."
Cadmor Bull-Horn |
Fellow Warrior |
"The Berserker. Red-Centurion. Even in his moments of sanity he is unstable at best, violence is the only language he really speaks. Someone who is fun as hell to spar, he fights very differently from Nahd or Rashar. But at the end of the day, he is a weapon: one that must be watched closely."
Musical Playlist
An overall song for Revikus, from his peaceful days in Akariue, to the arenas of Senchal, to the battlefields of Cyrodiil until a final peace.
Song of The Rim Territories, Revikus' place of birth.
Arriving to Akariue, the arid grasslands of the High Savannah and the jungles of the Tenmar Forest give way to temperate foggy valley of trees and bamboo.
Life in Akariue was generally peaceful, the majority of the population farmers and fishermen. However, martial arts were still practiced, craftsmen labored to perfect their craft, and Tsaesci spiritual practices continued.
On ones sixteenth birthday, individuals will undergo their first Proving Festival alone. The Proving Festival tests ones strength; physically, mentally and spiritually. During Revikus' he was injured by a harpy but succeeded.
In the year 574, Revikus-Adi and Kaisha-Chah discovered a gang of Khajiit bandits observing Akariue. The village prepared for war, Revikus included. During the ensuing battle, Revikus would witness his father fall and avenge his death. But this led to his decision to leave the village behind.
Stepping onto the dock of Senchal, Revikus found him in a new, exciting, dangerous place. And he made sure to show himself, and after slaying a group of bandits attempting to rob him, he slew them without a scratch.
While Revikus worked with many, it was in the Black Kirego Arena where he earned his fame. Rising quickly in renown, this renown became opportunities for work. His fighting style, golden armor, and Akaviri descent earned him the title 'Golden Serpent of Senchal'.
After leaving Senchal prior to the implementation of law and order by the Shields of Senchal, Revikus found himself in Stros M'Kai. His reputation having spread to Akariue, Kaisha-Chah, now magnate sent a letter to Revikus. In a sudden shift, he left Stros M'Kai and his crew behind, and began to rove Colovia.
Since arriving in Cyrodiil, Revikus has cut a swathe through the land. Not an undisciplined bandit however, his sword would find service with the Lords of the Highlands. In the end, he found Spartharia, and in his first demonstration defeated three legionaries alone.
Revikus earned his name in blood and iron, as he fought with the Fifth Legion. He eventually earned the personal notice of Volund Decentius, and was raised to Palatina Seniores; the personal guard and champions of the Dominate.
Revikus knows of the goal of the Dragonguard, and his ancestors: to find the Dragonborn and raise them to the Ruby-Throne of Cyrodiil. Revikus is loyal to this goal, however his loyalty is to Iron: Decentius.
Knowing this purpose, he cannot see the bigger picture. It is veiled, known only to a few. What happens on Tamriel, reflects in Akavir. And as all races of men find their way to the Arena; the Tsaesci are no different.
For Revikus however, as with all mortals one day his life will come to an end. It may be on the battlefield against some unknown foe, it may be to the natural progression of time. Either way, it will bring a final peace to the travelling warrior.
These are a collection of small stories made to help fill in Revikus' backstory. It tells of his passage into adulthood, how he earned the moniker 'Golden Serpent' in Senchal, working as a smuggler, to how he learned of House Decentius.Links will direct to a Google Doc, easier to format.
